Gettin to know your art teacher

Picture
Mr. Wright
I grew up in Southern Oregon before venturing off to college and traveling off to far off places.  I later returned to Medford where I went to college and worked for a youth ministry called "Campus Life".   Marriage came next with my wonderful wife Alison and we now have  3 beautiful teenage daughters  who totally rock my world all the time.

Hedrick has been my home for 17 years  where I have had the privledge of teaching art to a whole lot of 7th and 8th graders.  Hedrick has always been a place where excellence has been the target and I am proud to be a part of a staff of such devoted, hard working and caring people.

I've always been so intrigued and amazed by art. The old adage " A picture is worth a thousand words" really is true and one image can communicate such powerful ideas and stir emotions.  I believe that all students can benefit from understanding how to see the world around them in terms of art.  Besides enjoying art....I enjoy kids.  So being able to teach art and "hang" with kids, it's like the best of both worlds.

About 18 years ago I was introduced to sailing and I have been hooked ever since.  So if you ever  visit the edge of the warm waters of the Sea of Cortez and you see a sailboat passing bye, it might be me.  We, and 5 partners, own a 34 ft. sailboat in Mexico
